HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Three-year starter on St. Ignatius squad that ranked among top 20 high school teams during past scholastic soccer season • led team to three straight conference championships and back-to-back national rankings his junior and senior seasons • an all-conference and all-city selection • helped St. Ignatius to regional title during his junior year • also advanced to state semifinals that same year • missed most of his senior season with an injury, but managed two goals and four assists • finished his career with 12 goals and 25 assists • served as team captain his senior season • starter on Ohio North State Olympic Developmental Team • played in several European competitions in Italy, France, Spain, Austria and Sweden • starting midfielder and part of only North American team to win the Gothia Cup (Under-16 Showcase) in Sweden — the largest youth soccer tournament in the world • nine-year veteran of club soccer • played for the Internationals SC Club team and was a member of that team for five years • led Internationals to 2000 Snickers state crown and to second-placed finish at regional championship • named to all-star team at Notre Dame Elite Soccer Camp in summer of 2001 • born February 25, 1984 • son of Dennis and Ibi Tarnay • enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
