AS A SENIOR: Irish starting cornerback in all 11 games in 2001…blocked a punt in fourth period to set up only Irish touchdown vs. Nebraska…leader of Irish secondary that held Nebraska to 88 yards, Michigan State to 208 yards and Texas A&M to 177 yards…recorded three tackles vs. Michigan State. . . had five tackles vs. Texas A&M…recorded first interception of the season vs. Pittsburgh…had first career forced fumble vs. Pittsburgh. . .recorded two tackles and broke up a pass vs. West Virginia…tied a career high with seven tackles vs. USC…also made key special teams play vs. USC by stopping fake punt on USC 28 late in the second quarter…the Irish later scored a touchdown, closing the gap to 13-10 at the half. . .recorded three tackles and broke up a pass vs. Boston College. . .recorded four tackles, including one for a loss of three yards, and broke up a pass vs. Tennessee…recorded seven tackles, including three for a loss and one sack, vs. Navy…also recorded an interception…named NBC/Chevrolet Player of the Game vs. Navy…led the team with eight passes broken up…named to Football News preseason all-independent team.

AS A JUNIOR: Irish starting cornerback in 2000 . . . made first career start vs. Texas A&M, notching first five tackles of his career . . . had seven tackles and first career interception vs. Nebraska, while leading team in playing time . . . intercepted Drew Brees pass late in first quarter and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown to give Notre Dame a 14-0 lead over the Boilermakers . . . notched six tackles vs. West Virginia and had career-high eight tackles vs. Air Force . . . played every defensive snap vs. West Viriginia, Air Force and Boston College . . . broke right forearm vs. Rutgers and had surgery on Nov. 19, causing him to miss finale vs. USC . . . led all players in minutes at time of his injury . . . returned to play off the bench vs. Oregon State in 2001 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, making two solo tackles.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in nine games in '99, working as reserve cornerback and making 61 overall special team appearances . . . saw action vs. Purdue, Arizona State and USC in secondary.

AS A FRESHMAN: Led Irish soccer team in scoring as rookie forward in '98 with 10 goals and seven assists . . . a second-team all-BIG EAST selection and a second-team all-Mideast Region pick by National Soccer Coaches Association of America . . . named to '98 BIG EAST all-rookie team . . . three-time selection as BIG EAST Rookie of the Week . . . became first freshman to lead Notre Dame in scoring since Bill Lanza in 1992 . . . accounted for four game-winning goals while starting 17 of 18 contests and helping team to 9-6-3 record . . . had two goals and two assists in his first collegiate game.
